Yes you heard it, 1877 are now on Instagram.
Rock n roll
In just under a month 1877 return to live performance with an appearance at the Beacon Festival in the lush, landscaped fields of Watlington in Southern Oxfordshire. Weekend and day tickets are available from the festival website and 1877 are playing the Friday evening.
Our last gig was in Milton Keynes late last year, a video of us performing ‘I am an Antagonist’ there can be found below;
It’s with regret we have had to cancel our appearance at this weekend’s Music in the Park in Thame, Oxon.
Unfortunately we were booked on an acoustic stage with a set-up and sound limit which would have compromised our performance to a level that we were unhappy with.
We apologise to anyone who was looking forward to seeing us play.
1877 will perform on the Crash Stage at Music in the Park, Elms Park, Thame next Sunday, May 4. The band will be onstage from 6pm. We will be joined by a tour de force of special guests Adrian Dollimore and Chris Bryant, who will be filling in for our guitarist Nik who is off to Africa.
Tickets are £7 for Adults, £4 for Consessions and if you’re under 5, it’s free. They can be purchased in advance here
Others acts include Ska Souls, Half Decent, Jonny Spruce and the Haddenham Ukulele Group.
The line-up has been announced for the Beacon Festival in Watlington on the weekend of 20-22 June 2014. It features Half Decent, Antix, Jefferson Duke and a host of tribute bands including Prog Floyd, the Dung Beatles, Oye Santana and Bon Giovi

‘We Are Sinister’ is one of the latest editions to Steve Lamacq’s playlist for 6 Music.
The track was featured on the ‘6 Music Recommends’ show and the original broadcast can be heard on the iPlayer available for the next couple of days, also including tracks from Toy and Maximo Park
‘We Are Sinister’ is taken from 1877’s new EP ‘There is a Policeman Inside All Our Heads, He Must Be Destroyed’ out now
